Host Gerard Healy said Serong was just one of a handful of future stars coming through at Fremantle.
“They have got a plethora of young talent at Fremantle,” Healy said.
“Caleb Serong, he’s got one hand on the rising star award.”
“It was destined to go north to Queensland (before Matt Rowell’s shoulder injury), unless (Gold Coast teammate) Noah Anderson can have an unbelievable final four games.
“This bloke (Serong) has taken all before him. He’s playing like a seasoned player, he’s got captaincy written all over him and the good news for Freo is they’ve got three or four to choose from.”
Co-host Jonathon Brown said Serong was helping bring the best out of his teammates, including Freo’s leaders.
“I think Nat Fyfe and David Mundy are reinvigorated, when they see they’ve got a star young midfielder joining them, I think they’ve been reinvigorated with their own form,” Brown said.
