Fremantle leader Reece Conca is among five potential ins for Monday night’s clash with Geelong at Optus Stadium, while Stephen Hill has been ruled out with an adductor strain.
Conca is set to return from a hamstring injury sustained in round five against Adelaide, and is joined by forward Brandon Matera, midfielder Connor Blakely, midfielder Mitch Crowden and potential debutant Tobe Watson as Freo’s five inclusions at this stage.
Conca could come in as a direct swap with Hill at half back.
“Stephen pulled up sore following our game against West Coast on Sunday,” general manager of football Peter Bell said.
“He demonstrated some tightness during testing at our injury clinic on Monday and he was sent for a scan, which showed a small strain in the adductor muscle.
“We have ruled Stephen out of this Monday’s game but we are hopeful of a quick recovery.”
A 190cm defender, Watson showed good form in Fremantle’s scratch matches played on the Gold Coast, however like Blakely, Crowden and Matera, he hasn’t played competitive football since Freo’s hitout against Gold Coast on Friday 10 July.
Meanwhile Geeong have named eight potential ins and four outs for the clash.
Ben Jarvis, Brad Close, Charlie Constable, James Parsons, Lachie Fogarty, Mitch Duncan, Nathan Kreuger and Tom Stewart have come into the squad while Gary Ablett (personal reasons) and injured trio Joel Selwood, Jordan Clark and Luke Dalhaus are out.
The final team will be announced at 2.30pm Saturday on fremantlefc.com.au.
Bounce down for the clash is at 6.10pm and will be broadcast live on 7mate and Fox Footy.
The match can also be streamed live via Kayo and AFL Live Pass.
