Star Port midfielder Hamish Hartlett is in line to return against Fremantle at AAMI Stadium this Sunday.

Hartlett has been out for five weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 21-year-old will face a fitness test at training at AAMI Stadium on Thursday.

Veteran defender Jacob Surjan is also likely to return from injury this week.

Surjan could replace Jasper Pittard, who is in hospital with rib and lung injuries from last Saturday's win over Melbourne in Darwin.

Port's best forward Jay Schulz is two to three weeks away from playing, while pacy midfielder David Rodan has already been ruled out of Sunday’s clash.

Ruckman Brent Renouf remains unlikely to play because of a knee injury.
