Forty-five primary schools teachers left the classroom for the footy field this afternoon at Fremantle Oval.

They battled the wind and rain to take part in a professional development program conducted by the entire Fremantle playing group.

The program, which is a joint initiative with the club and the West Australian Football Commission provides information for teachers on the different competitions held throughout the year including Freo Kwik Kick, Freo Fast Ball and Freo House Footy.

A group of players gave the teachers a rare insight into the footy club, with a tour of the facilities, which included the gym, pool area and player meeting rooms.

Peter Sumich offered an escape to the winter-like conditions in the boardroom where he answered the teachers questions on footy, life, and coaching.

The afternoon finished with a signing session in the boardroom.
