Western Bulldogs coach Brendan McCartney has praised the coaching abilities of Ross Lyon and says it won’t be long until Fremantle clicks under him.

McCartney said he “enormously respected” Lyon’s ability to demand the basics and prepare his teams.

“Freo are working hard and everyone in the AFL knows they’re being really well coached and prepared,” McCartney said on Bulldogs TV.

“They’ve been managing some really important players out of that team.

“But you know that, with the people coaching that team, they’re going to be competitive and it won’t be long until they have a really ruthless streak to them because of how they are prepared.”
