Freo had its main training session before Saturday’s game against Melbourne, and although Matthew Pavlich did not participate, Ross Lyon says the captain will be selected.

The senior coach said at this morning’s media conference that it would be a similar case to last week, when Pavlich was named but had to undergo a fitness test before the game against North Melbourne.

The Freo skipper was withdrawn from the match after failing to prove his fitness.

But Lyon said the club’s inspirational leader was confident of getting up for the match against the Demons.

In other news from training, Kepler Bradley who was subbed out after a heavy knock against the Kangaroos, trained away from the main group as he was put through a series of tests.

Hayden Ballantyne was also put on light duties away from the main group, while ruckman Jon Griffin participated in full training.
