Rhys, 19, missed last Sunday's win over Melbourne with general soreness but has impressed enough on the training track this week to earn a recall.
Joining Rhys in being summoned back to the line up is Ryan Murphy, Paul Duffield, Kepler Bradley and Adam Campbell.
Brock O’Brien and Andrew Browne have both been ruled out through injury.
Senior Coach Mark Harvey is hoping the dominance his side showed in three of the four quarters against Melbourne will continue against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.
After trailing by 34 points early in the second quarter at Subiaco Oval, Fremantle kicked 16 of the next 20 goals to beat Melbourne by 46 points.
It's a doggedness Harvey hopes the players will take into the clash with the Power, a side buoyed in turn by a gritty win over cross-town rival Adelaide.
"You get confidence from it throughout the week and some sort of momentum can come from that," Harvey said on Wednesday.
"But just to see the side react under those circumstances, to dig themselves out of that situation, is pleasing.
"It's all about what we want to do, how we want to play and getting a win on the road though. Last time we played Port Adelaide in round 10, we were right in the game until three-quarter time before getting overrun in the last quarter.
"So we will go back and revisit that more than what happens to them after a Showdown (against Adelaide)."
Bouncedown on Sunday is 12.40pm CST.
