150 straight for Pavlich
Captain Matthew Pavlich will play in his 150th consecutive game for Fremantle under lights on Friday night against Geelong.
Matthew's current streak of games began in Round 15, 2001, and is the second best active streak in the league, behind only Adam Goodes from Sydney, who has a streak of 196 consecutive games.
In his 149 straight appearances to date, Matthew has averaged 18 possessions, 6.8 marks and 1.99 goals.
“It’s a huge effort for an individual to play 150 consecutive games, but to play them at the level that Matthew does makes it even more remarkable,” said Senior Coach Mark Harvey.
“Some people are meant to play football, they are talented, they are athletic, they are durable and can cope with the hardness of it and Matthew is one of those special players.”
The 150th consecutive game milestone adds to an already impressive trophy cabinet for Matthew.
