The team trained on Fremantle Oval this morning ahead of Saturday’s match against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.

With Hayden Ballantyne unavailable because of suspension, a host of young players were desperate to impress senior coach Ross Lyon before the team is named at 3.25pm (WST) today.

Hayden Crozier and Lachie Neale joined the senior players when the squad broke up into two groups, the other being the development group.

Young tall Tanner Smith and defender Alex Silvagni also trained with the senior players.

It was an intense session, with the players very vocal throughout, particularly Nick Suban and Silvagni.

Freo flies out for Melbourne this afternoon.
