All Australian captain Joel Selwood believes a number of Fremantle Dockers were unlucky not to make the prestigious team, which was announced in Melbourne on Monday night.

Michael Johnson was the only member of Ross Lyon’s top four side to be named in the 22-man team.

Nat Fyfe, Chris Mayne, David Mundy and Michael Walters had all been included in a preliminary 40-man squad from which the All Australian team was chosen.

Selwood lauded a Freo team that had beaten his Geelong side in the qualifying final at Simonds Stadium.

"They've had an outstanding year," the Cats skipper told AFL.com.au.

"Who do you take out to put in? I think Nat Fyfe has had an outstanding year, David Mundy, and the list goes on.

"They're starting a juggernaut over there.

“They're hard to stop and we're just hopeful we get another chance.”
