The AFL has granted permission for Fremantle to play a trial match against the Adelaide Crows on Saturday 23 February in Adelaide.

The match will take place at AAMI Stadium and, according to Fremantle general manager of football operations Chris Bond, will provide an opportunity for players to get extra match practice in the lead up to the season proper.

“The coaching staff are really pleased that we have been able to get approval from the AFL for this match to go ahead,” Bond said.

“It provides an opportunity for the team to have four consecutive matches guaranteed in the lead up to round 1.”

A new date and time for the club’s Family Fun Day, originally scheduled for Saturday 23 February at Fremantle Oval, will be announced to members and fans in the coming days.

All 2013 Fremantle members will get free entry to the trial game.
