Great news for Freo – Matthew Pavlich and Aaron Sandilands will play against St Kilda at Patersons Stadium on Sunday.

The star veterans got through Friday morning’s training session without incident and were named in the finalised team of 22 for the Saints clash.

Midfield maestros David Mundy and Michael Barlow were also included, as was Lee Spurr, who was a late withdrawal from last week’s Geelong game with gastro.

Matt Taberner, Alex Silvagni and Cam Sutcliffe were the players omitted from Thursday’s 25-man squad and will be the emergencies for Sunday’s match.

Young ruckman Jack Hannath and round 14 debutant Viv Michie had already been omitted, while Paul Duffield (calf) and Hayden Crozier (groin) could not be considered because of injury.

Sunday’s match will be Pavlich’s first game since round 3 because of a left plantaris injury.

Sandilands will play his first game of 2013 after he sustained a hamstring injury in the first NAB Cup match of the year.

Mundy has missed the past two games with a calf injury, while Barlow did not travel to Geelong following a procedure on his injuredjaw.

This will be the first match since round 23 last season that Fremantle’s revered leaders Pavlich, Sandilands, Luke McPharlin and David Mundy have played in the same team together.
