No easy games

It’s fair to say Melbourne has been under the pump from the very first bounce of the 2013 season. However, the Demons showed on the weekend against Richmond that they are improving. Don’t tell Ross Lyon his side has an easy encounter this week.
"There are no easy games in AFL footy," Lyon said after Freo’s draw with Sydney
"We're fully committed to playing from the first to the last minute against the Melbourne footy club."

Indigenous Round

Freo has drafted 30 Indigenous players since its inception, with 25 going on to play at the elite level. To celebrate the AFL’s Indigenous Round, the team will run out onto Patersons Stadium on Sunday in a special one-off Indigenous jumper that was created by former Fremantle player and current development coach Roger Hayden and Richard Walley, one of Australia's leading Aboriginal performers, artists, musicians and writers.

‘Johnno’ streaks on

It will be hard to find a man prouder than Michael Johnson on Sunday. The Indigenous star has pushed for Freo to wear an Indigenous Round jumper, and he’ll get his wish this week. ‘Johnno’ will play his 66th consecutive match for the club, which is currently the longest consecutive run of games at Freo.

Injury robs us of Indigenous stars

Recent injuries to Indigenous players Jon Griffin, Stephen Hill and Michael Walters will deprive the three stars of the opportunity to represent the club in Indigenous Round.

Jack Hannath meets the Dees

Jack Hannath was training with Melbourne during last year’s Pre-Season Draft when Mark Neeld informed him that Fremantle had just drafted him. The Demons had been keen to draft the South Australian, before being trumped by Freo. If selected, Hannath will be hoping to show Melbourne what it missed out on this Sunday.
