Freo senior coach Ross Lyon told 6PR on Monday night Sylvia’s rough conduct charge from Peel Thunder's game on Saturday had placed a “significant hurdle” in front of the Melbourne recruit.
He said Sylvia's charge came at a bad time for the club.
"(It was a) lack of discipline. I'm certainly not pleased," Lyon said.
"It's the last thing Colin and the club need, there's no doubt about that. We've got some injury worries and he was actually building some pretty goodform.
"It's a significant hurdle he's put in front of himself and the club. I'm certainly not pleased but at the end of the day life goes on and we'll pickthose that are available."
Sylvia had just 13 disposals in Peel's 17-point loss to Subiaco on Saturday.

He is averaging 16 possessions across three appearances in the WAFL this season.
He has not played for Fremantle in the home and away season, after moving across from Melbourne, although he did play one NAB Challenge game and one practice match during the pre-season.
