The Live the Dream program, proudly supported by Decmil, came to an end on Tuesday afternoon after the 16 participants spent five days living the life of a footballer.

As well as watching Fremantle take on Greater Western Sydney at Patersons Stadium on Sunday, the participants took part in a boxing session, a football training session, a tour of Decmil HQ and an army boot camp.

Strategic Executive from Decmil Ray Sputore said the program allowed Decmil to give back to the community.

“We have a similar values alignment as Freo,” he said.

“For us we are very proud and excited to be involved in the program.

“It gives us an opportunity to give a little bit back and allows us to see how the participants develop, their potential and hopefully gives them the skills to progress.

“We love being involved.”

Sixteen-year-old Claudia Rowell from Gelorup said it was a great opportunity to be part of the program.

“It’s been awesome," she said.

"The highlight was going into the change rooms and seeing the players after the game.

Claudia, who hopes to play in the AFL Womens League in 2020 had Nick Suban as her player mentor and said the Freo midfielder gave her some helpful advice.

“He said you had to work hard and there is no easy way to get to where you want to be,” she said.

“Most importantly, he told me to keep going with my dream.”
