Fremantle have secured young talent Brennan Cox, signing a two-year contract extension seeing him out until the end of 2020.
Selected at pick 41 in the 2016 National draft, Cox has shown some great signs in his development as a first year player at the club.
Cox turned 19-years-old on Sunday and said he was excited to commit to the club for a further two years.
“I’m absolutely stoked to get to stay at Freo for at least the next few years and cant wait to play good footy and keep on improving, ” Cox said.
The young South Australian moved to the west at the end of 2016 and says he is enjoying the lifestyle.
“I love it over here, there’s beautiful weather and I get to play with a great bunch of lads,” Cox said.
Cox has played a total of eight AFL games and is aiming to continually improve his game week in, week out.
“My aim is to keep improving and getting feedback off the older guys,” Cox said.
The tall forward is looking to work on his goal kicking and reaches for advice from his forward coaches Brent Guerra and David Hale.
“Brent Guerra and David Hale are my two main coaches with the forward line role and I’m learning plenty form them,” Cox said
Cox also credits experienced forward Hayden Ballantyne for his advice both at training and on game day.
“Ballas has helped me a fair bit,” Cox said.
“He’s been helping me with my set shot, he’s a real good leader.”
Alongside Cox, Ed Langdon also agreed to a two-year contract extension, which see’s him at the club until the end of season 2019.
