#29 A Proud indigenous history
In the lead up to Sir Doug Nicholls round in round 10 of 2019, we had a total of 34 Indigenous AFL players and 10 Indigenous AFLW players who had played a combined 2314 games for Fremantle, the most of any AFL club. At a dawn smoking ceremony, all of our men's indigenous players came together for a photo with Troy Cook, to celebrate our indigenous history wearing our 2019 purple ‘home’ indigenous jumper designed by Troy himself.

#28 Duman’s goal
The unsuspecting Taylin Duman usually feels at home in Freo’s backline. But for a moment against the Cats in round 20, Duman crept forward to find himself in our attacking 50. A floating ball was sent high into our forward 50. It was spoiled, but landed in the lap of Duman who took the ball cleanly and calmly slotted the goal. The score put us 26 points ahead of the Cats with seven minutes to go in the match, and the Optus Stadium crowd knew that we had the game all sealed up. It was Duman’s first ever goal in AFL footy, and what a moment to do it.

#27 A Walters hat-trick

Walters was in the form of his life and no-one could stop him as he put on a masterclass in front of more than 37,000 fans at Optus stadium.

#24 Matera’s moment
This goal celebration came from Matera midway through the final quarter of our round five clash with GWS. Giving us a healthy 13-point margin with just over 11 minutes to go, it was the moment where hope turned into reality for Freo fans as the team surged towards a 24-point victory.

#22 Fyfe’s direction
On the brink of three-quarter-time in our round 20 match against Geelong, hope was starting to build as we looked to head into the short break with a slight two-point lead. With under a minute to go, skipper Nat Fyfe took a strong contested mark and slotted a goal to spark a five-goal streak either side of the break which would eventually see one of our more memorable wins of 2019.
