2011 Rising Star winner Dyson Heppell says Essendon are refreshed and ready for a tough battle against Fremantle at Patersons Stadium on Saturday night following a bye last round.

Heppell said the week off provided the playing group with a much needed break at the half-way point of the season.

“It’s always good to get away from the club for a bit and get that real mental freshen up,” Heppell said on essendonfc.com.au

“I think the boys have been really looking forward to the bye and are ready to go now.”

The Bombers have won just two of their past 16 matches at the venue.

Heppell said a win in Perth would be massive for the club after two losses before the bye.

“I think it is a pretty vital game for us this week but we are all really looking forward to it,” he said.
