Two Fremantle players are listed as tests for this week’s clash with Essendon, with both captain David Mundy (calf) and Clancee Pearce (concussion) looking to return on Saturday.
Freo are hopeful to have Mundy and Pearce available for match committee, according to sports science manager Jason Weber.
“Dave has run really well this morning, so we look forward to making him available for training on Thursday,” Weber said.
“With Clancee it’s the same thing, post-concussion we have some tests to do and hopefully we’ll get him up and available.”
Weber said Ryan Nyhuis had been a solid performer in the WAFL, but the rookie defender will miss the next four to six weeks after injuring his knee in Peel Thunder’s win against East Fremantle on Saturday.
“Ryan has been running really hard and playing some good football,” he said.
“Unfortunately, he took a direct blow across his knee and that’s resulted in some lateral ligament damage.”

Garrick Ibbotson will also miss the next two to four weeks with a wrist injury.
“Unfortunately, ‘Ibbo’ injured his wrist in the game (against the Saints),” he said.
“He seemed to play out the game okay but after the flight, the next morning in medical review it had swelled up and was quite painful.
“It was reviewed and he has a small fracture in his wrist so it’s going to be a couple of weeks to get it right.”
