Zac Dawson is itching to get back on the field after an injury plagued first half to 2015.
Dawson broke his thumb during a game for Peel Thunder in June during what was his first match of the season after a groin injury in the pre-season sidelined him for several weeks.
“The thumb is coming along well,” he said.
“I’m still able to train and do all the work with the boys so it’s been pretty good.”
Dawson has been wearing a wrist guard to protect his thumb, allowing him to train with the main group.
He said it was the first time of his career he had spent a long stint on the sidelines.
“I’m itching to get back,” he said.
“It’s probably been my first real setback for my whole career.
“I haven’t taken it too much to heart.
“It’s hard early days but I focus on the positives of trying to get back as soon as I can.”
