Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon says his number one concern is improving his side’s football in the final two rounds before the finals.
The club heads into Sunday’s game against Melbourne at Domain Stadium off the back of consecutive losses to West Coast and North Melbourne.
Lyon told 6PR on Monday that he knew his side was not playing its best football but the signs were there.
“My real concern is improving our football,” he said.
“We acknowledge we’re not as electric as we’ve been.”
Lyon said Fremantle’s seven-goal first term against North Melbourne showed the style of football it can play.
“I thought there were some really good signs on the weekend,” he said.
“Your doing a lot of things right if you’re at the top of the ladder.
“It’s hard to stay up the whole time.
“Our effort and competing is really strong.”

Lyon said Fremantle faced a simple equation, win against Melbourne to secure a top-two spot, and win its final game against Port Adelaide to secure top-spot on the ladder.
“We need to improve that and hopefully the nostrils flare a bit the close they get to finals,” he said.
“I didn’t enjoy losing, I don’t like losing and I didn’t enjoy the errors.
“We’ll get some great lessons out of the weekend, some reminders on how to win tights games and what to do.”
