Fremantle will rue a missed opportunity to secure the club’s first flag, says club chief executive Steve Rosich.
The club suffered a numbing 27-point loss to Hawthorn in Friday’s Preliminary Final.
“We came here to win and play in another Grand Final,” Rosich said.
“Unfortunately, we’ve fallen short to a very good football team who deserved to win tonight.

“It was a missed opportunity.”
Rosich said while it was a disappointing result, there some positives from the 2015 season, among them winning the club’s inaugural minor premiership.
“We’re proud to have played in our fourth finals series in a row,” he said.
“(I’m) just disappointed we didn’t get to the last game.”
Rosich made special mention of Fremantle’s members and supporters.
“Our crowd was outstanding with supporting our team,” he said.
“I think we have the best supporters in the league, they’re growing in number and the noise they make at the ground is second to none.
“We’re really proud of our 51,500 members, we’re looking forward to next year already.”
