Fremantle made an impressive start against West Coast, but anything less than a four-quarter performance won’t get the job done against Sydney next week, according to ruckman Aaron Sandilands.

Freo equalled its highest-ever first quarter score with 9.2 (56) against the Eagles and the margin blew out to 79 points early in the third term.

Fast start sets up Freo win

West Coast then kicked nine of the last 10 goals to reduce the deficit to 30 when the final siren sounded.

Sandilands said it was hard to pinpoint the reasons for the fadeout, but believes the game review will be crucial in picking up where the team will need to get better.

“It’s hard to say,” Sandilands said.

“Probably our effort dropped off a little but, our structures dropped off a little bit.

“We will review that during the week and hopefully improve.”

Next up for Freo will be 2014 runners-up Sydney in the Len Hall Tribute Game at Domain Stadium on Anzac Day.

Sandilands knows exactly what to expect from one of the league’s benchmark teams.

“They’re a quality side,” he said.

“We know it’s going to take a four-quarter effort to get the job done against Sydney.

“We’ll sit down during the week and have a good look at them.”

Fremantle hosts Sydney on Saturday 25 April.

Bounce down is 6.40pm at Domain Stadium.
