Michael Barlow
Michael played inside-mid where he was tagged throughout the game by ex- teammate Jay van Berlo. He got his hands on plenty of the ball and it was great to have his experience inside the contest where he showed strong leadership.
Danyle Pearce
Danyle played in the midfield and also on the wing where he had some good entries inside the forward 50, finishing with seven in total. He was able to impact on the scoreboard with two goals.
Paul Duffield
Paul played half back opposed to Kody Manning and moved onto the wing in the second half. He had a number of contests and involvements and it was positive to see Paul back on the field.
Max Duffy
Max played as a high forward where he released hard from stoppages and got to some really good crumbing positions where he finished with two goals.
Jon Griffin
Jon played in the ruck, providing competitive effort over the four quarters. He played some brief stints forward. Jon won a large amount of his contests with 52 hitouts and had strong ground level follow-up.
Michael Apeness
Michael played forward and spent 30 per cent of the game in the ruck. He showed competitive effort in his ruck work where he executed good body-work and attempted to control the space. He showed some strong ground level impact after contests. As a forward he constantly brought the ball to ground.
Lachie Weller
Lachie played on the wing and as a high forward where he won the ball and was able to run and carry in passages. Over a short period of time he has demonstrated that he is highly coachable and able to make adjustments when given feedback.
Connor Blakley
Connor was one of the better players for Peel where he played inside-mid and had seven clearances. He owned his space and was assertive with his positioning.
Josh Deluca
Josh played as a high forward where he showed intent to chase and tackle. Josh is continuing to develop his understanding of what’s excepted of the role of a high forward at Fremantle and Peel Thunder.
Ed Langdon
Ed played on the wing and as a high forward where he showed good speed. And the ability to release hard forward and be involved in overlap chains.
Tanner Smith
Tanner played key-back as the deepest defender. He had plenty of one-on-one contests and his second efforts were good. A real positive for Tanner is that he is starting to get some continuity in games played.
Jacob Ballard
It was the first game for Jacob this year where he played predominantly on the wing and as a high forward. Jacob worked hard throughout the day to give a support in defence and will be better for the run.
Alex Pearce
Alex played high in defence opposed to Luke Meadows. He put in a strong contest in the fourth quarter where he put his body on the line. Alex is continuing to learn defensive positioning and the art of defending at training and in games.
Brady Grey
Brady played in defence as half-back. He has been given great exposure playing in this role over pre-season. Brady consistently demonstrates a strong line at the contest around the contested ball.
Ethan Hughes
Ethan played as a half-back in his first game for Peel. In the second term he kicked a good goal from hard run in defence and also in the same term showed some clean hands at ground level and awareness of where his teammate was. Ethan is continuing to work on his defensive positioning.
Craig Moller – reserves
Craig played predominately in the ruck where he was competitive, winning 37 hitouts. He showed good control of his hitouts. The focus for Craig is around his second and third efforts and impact around the ground in marking contests.
Tom Vandeleur – reserves
Tom played in defence against the opposition high forward. He is continually working on his ability to defend one-on-one and in his ability to effectively position defensively.
