Fremantle ruckman Aaron Sandilands has plenty of fans but none more so than his midfield teammates who reap the rewards of his tap work each game.

The four-time All Australian has set two VFL/AFL records so far this season and is averaging an impressive 42.6 hit-outs per game.

Freo midfielder Lachie Neale said it was a pleasure to crumb Sandilands' ruck work.

“He’s got amazing touch,” Neale told 6PR on Wednesday.

“We are pretty blessed, us midfielders, to have him running around and feeding us.”

Neale said Sandilands was instrumental in Fremantle’s strong start to the season which sees the club on top of the AFL ladder.

Tall Pies still a task

He said the 32-year-old was showing no signs of slowing down.

“Sandi’s a great player and has been for a number of years,” he said.

“He’s only improved since I’ve come to the club.”

Both Sandilands and Neale will need to be in good touch if Fremantle are to beat an in-form Collingwood at Domain Stadium on Thursday night.

TABtouch 22: Two changes for Freo

Neale said the Magpies would be a tough opponent.

“They’ve got a really good midfield group led by Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom and Dane Swan,” he said.

“Travis Cloke and Jamie Elliott are in fabulous form.”

Fremantle play Collingwood at Domain Stadium on Thursday 25 June. Bounce down is at 6.10pm.
