Fremantle is looking forward to playing on the MCG’s hallowed turf against Richmond this week, according to senior coach Ross Lyon.
Saturday’s game will be the club’s second at the ‘home of football’ this year after a 68-point win over Melbourne in Round 5.
Fremantle has won 14 times from 45 games at the ‘G’ but has won two of its past three there.
Lyon told Channel 7 on Tuesday that the side was looking forward to playing in front of a big crowd.
“We’re rapt to be going back to the MCG,” he said.
“We want to enjoy playing on the ground, playing a good brand of footy and hopefully getting across the line.”
Richmond is the only team to have defeated Fremantle at Domain Stadium this year and Lyon said they are an even tougher challenge at the MCG.
