Work to begin on $109m Fremantle Dockers training home in Cockburn

Work is set to begin on the new $109 million sporting complex which will serve as Fremantle Dockers' new headquarters in the southern Perth suburb of Cockburn.
The site works at Cockburn Central West will start next month, beginning a two-year transformation of the location with construction of the Cockburn Aquatic and Recreation Facility.
The centre will open in April 2018.

Fremantle assistant coach Simon Lloyd is a candidate for the vacant Carlton senior coaching position after Fremantle chief executive Steve Rosich revealed the Blues had sought permission to speak to him.
Lloyd, the highly rated head of Fremantle’s young players’ academy since 2008 and a match-day assistant in recent seasons, is one of nine aspirants hand-picked by the AFL to do a level-four coaching accreditation course this year.
