An undefeated start to the year has Fremantle flying high at the top of the ladder, but the AFL can change rapidly, according to Freo’s Garrick Ibbotson.
Ibbotson was at his reliable best with a solid 17 disposals in Freo’s 28-point win against Essendon at Domain Stadium on Saturday.
Fremantle now head to Etihad Stadium to play an impressive young Western Bulldogs side.

Ibbotson said the good start to the year was pleasing but every team is on notice due to the competitiveness of the league this season.
“It’s good start and there is definitely worse places to be,” he said.
“It is hard to win games at the moment, there are teams losing games unexpectedly.
“It’s only the start of the season, it’s early but it’s good to win.”
Ibbotson said another slow final term was an area to improve on.
“We’d like to finish a bit better than we did,” he said.
“When the pressure was at the start of the game and everything was equal we played well. “
Ibbotson said the Bulldogs were playing good football.
“They’re a lot improved from last year, so it’ll be a tough game,” he said.
