The Fremantle faithful has again dug deep into their pockets and donated a record $156,732.85 to Starlight Purple Haze Game, proudly supported by Fremantle Ports.
Sunday 5 April was the club’s 13th annual Purple Haze Game at Domain Stadium with players and more than 100 volunteers rattling tins for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
In a stunning effort, over 13 years, nearly $1 million has been raised for the foundation.
The club is proud to support the Starlight Children’s Foundation that provides support programs for seriously ill children.
Donations came from across the community.
The Dowson family and Goldfields community alone raised an incredible $60,000.
Starlight wish children and their families attended the game, supported by Fremantle Ports, in April and players wore a customised jumper featuring the Starlight Star.
Starlight player ambassadors Aaron Sandilands, Chris Mayne, Matt de Boer, Garrick Ibbotson, Alex Silvagni and Lachie Neale gave up their time to visit sick children in hospital and help promote the foundation.
The first Starlight Purple Haze Game was held in round 18, 2003.
The Fremantle Dockers and the Starlight Foundation would like to thank all those who donated.
