100-point threshold

It is the much talked about stat. Fremantle have the tightest defence in the competition, conceding an average of just 69 points per game, the least in the AFL. However, Fremantle have not kicked more than 100 points since round 8.

Demons still a danger: Johnno

House of pain

Melbourne will need to rewrite its recent history to knock off Freo at home. The Demons have not won a game at Domain Stadium since 2004. The stats get worse too, with the Demons kicking less than 10 goals in its past five games in Perth.

Form

Both teams will be chasing a win after consecutive losses. Fremantle comes off the back of two losses, while Melbourne are looking to end a three game losing streak. Both teams have plenty to play for. In Freo’s case it’s a top-two spot on the ladder, while Melbourne will be eager to finish the season off on a high.

No time to overreact

Injuries

Fremantle will be missing star midfielder Nat Fyfe, due to inflammation in his fibula. Captain Matthew Pavlich may also miss with ongoing Achilles soreness that had him miss last Sunday’s loss to North Melbourne. Injury may open the door for recent debutant Lachie Weller.
