Star Fremantle forward Michael Walters believes the ladder position is irrelevant when it comes to taking on Richmond at Domain Stadium.
Top-of-the-ladder Freo hosts the eighth-placed Tigers for Friday night footy in front of the Purple Army and Walters expects another tough clash.
“Richmond is a quality side,” he said.
“Especially at Domain Stadium, the last couple of years they have pulled the wool over our eyes.
“Ladder position doesn’t matter this year; it’s a pretty equal competition.”
Walters responds to Lyon challenge
Fremantle will be aiming for a club record 10-straight wins, but Walters doesn’t expect the fixtures to get any easier.
“Richmond is going to come over and they’re going to fight the fight exactly like we are,” he said.
“It’s a six-day break, we’re going to train our best during the week and I’m sure Richmond are going to come over and like I said earlier, fight the fight.”
Freo hosts Richmond on Friday 5 June at Domain Stadium.
Bounce down is at 6.10pm.
