Fremantle midfielder Brady Grey said Freo were prepared for the challenge of fixing their ball movement, after Sunday’s four point loss to Carlton.
Grey said senior coach Ross Lyon’s message after the game was concise and that Freo were aware of what needed to be done to improve.
“The main focus for this week will be to fix areas of our game, our team defence, stoppages as well as our ball movement in all areas of the game," Grey said.
“It won’t come easy but we’re all prepared to do the work.”
Talking points after Carlton loss
Grey said Freo were good in short bursts against Carlton, but their hard work ultimately came undone due to a lack of quality ball use.
“I thought we had good patches during the game, but also areas we need to work on,” he said.
“We fought on well and our effort was there.
“They were a bit more polished with the ball, which in the end cost us the game.”
Grey was a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing day for Freo, finishing with 16 disposals and 10 tackles in just his second game for the club.
Ross Lyon echoed that sentiment after the match, saying he was pleased with the young midfielder’s performance.
“I thought he (Grey) played with real tenacity and competed,” Lyon said.
“We were really pleased.”
