Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon says his side is continuing to work on the function of its forward line after a quiet few rounds.
The side is averaging 87.5 points per game this season but has averaged just 67 points over the past three rounds, in slippery conditions in all three games.
Lyon told 6PR on Monday night the team was focusing on marks inside-50 and improving the forward structure.
“Our scoring has dried up a bit in the last three games by about three goals,” he said.
“The forwards have really got to improve their leading patterns, blocking and breaking to space.
“They’re a bit stagnant and their not working how we’d like.
“We’ve put work into that at training.”
Lyon said the side was concentrating on improving its ball use into the 50.
“There is a little bit of the ball carriers looking to the right spot and to the lead,” he said.
“We are certainly working with forwards…but the midfielders and halfbacks need to kick it to space a little bit better.
“We were delivering it earlier in the year and we need to deliver it going forward.”
Fremantle play Brisbane at Domain Stadium on Sunday 5 July. Bounce down is at 2.40pm.
