Peel Thunder were unable to extend their winning streak to three games on Saturday, instead suffering a 30-point loss at the hands of East Perth.
However, there were positives to take out of the game, with a number of players performing well in the loss.
Here’s Senior Development/Assistant coach Peter Sumich’s review of how Freo’s players went for Peel Thunder.
Sam Collins
Played back all game and was solid taking some strong marks and used the ball well. He continues to grow each week as a key defender.
Tanner Smith
Started down back and was moved up forward after half time. He gave us a contest in the air but just needs to finish his hard work off when he has the ball in hand.
Anthony Morabito
Played halfback in his first game since August 2014 and had a solid game. He ran the game out well and played 80 minutes of footy. His run off the halfback line was good and we expect him to improve over the coming weeks.
Crozier dominant in Peel loss
Brady Grey
Played midfield all game and played on East Perth’s Kane Lucas. He had solid game but was a bit quieter after half time.
Hayden Crozier
Played midfield and finished with 30 touches, 8 tackles and kicked 3 goals – ran the game out well and kept us in the game all day until the last five minutes. Displayed great effort throughout the game.
Ryan Nyhuis
Played on the wing and had only 12 touches. He continues to show signs of being a good player at the WAFL level.
Jon Griffin
Played ruck and forward. He was solid, worked hard all game, and took some good contested marks and had 36 hit-outs.

Jack Hannath
Finished with 15 hit outs and a goal after switching between ruck and forward.
Josh Deluca
Played half forward and was once again very good with his pressure and tackling on the opposition. He is getting to some good crumbing spots in the forward line, and finished with 12 touches and two behinds.
Matthew Uebergang
Started forward and did not have much impact in the first half until moved to the backline in the second half. He was much better getting into the game.
Matt Taberner
Played in the forward line all game and presented well. Took some good marks on the lead and finished the game with three goals.
