- Lacing up for Starlight Purple Haze
A big round one performance for ball magnet Lachie Neale could be a windfall for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, thanks to the generosity of Fox Sports presenter Neroli Meadows.
A passionate Freo fan, Meadows put her money where her heart is for her Starlight #purplehazepledge, which raises money to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families.
After Neale tweeted his pledge of $10 for every Garrick Ibbotson mark in Fremantle’s home opener, Meadows upped the ante.
Put me down for $5 for every @LachieNeale27 possession @freodockers. #purplehazepledge #greatcause https://t.co/YhF92qJB2d

In 2016, Neale averaged 33.5 disposals per game, and a similar performance will see Meadows sending $167.50 Starlight’s way.
But Neale also exceeded 40 disposals on five occasions in his Doig Medal winning season, including two 42-disposal performances against Essendon in round 11 and Gold Coast in round 18.
If Neale can match his 2016 best, Starlight will be up for a $210 windfall from Meadows.
Neale even joked that Neroli’s generosity might even excuse him for chasing some cheap possessions.
@Neroli_M_FOX @freodockers you're a champion Neroli! Now Ross can't be too upset if I get some cheapies
