The Fremantle Dockers confirmed on Friday the club’s final list lodgement following the 2017 season.
Nick Suban has been advised that his contract would not be extended.
Taken with pick no.24 in the 2008 National Draft, Suban played 156 games and kicked 60 goals during his nine seasons with Fremantle.
The versatile midfielder played in a number of positions during his time at Fremantle, while also giving his trademark effort for Peel in the Thunder’s premiership winning seasons over the past two years.
The 27-year-old played 12 games for Fremantle in 2017, reaching the 150-game milestone against West Coast in round 17.
Suban was awarded with Life Membership at the Doig Medal Presentation Dinner earlier this month.
General manager of football operations Chris Bond thanked Suban for his contribution to the club.
“Nick’s achieved a great deal at this club over the past nine years and to reach 150 games is a testament to his ability and dedication as a player,” Bond said.
“The fans saw first-hand how hard Nick worked on the field, and he worked just as hard at training and behind the scenes.
“He has been a highly valued member of our playing group and we wish Nick and wife Bianca all the best for the future.”
Suban said he leaves the club as a proud Fremantle Docker.
"I have really enjoyed my time at Fremantle and want to thank everyone who has helped me over the past nine years,” Suban said.
“I am proud to be a life member of the club but feel like I still have a lot to give an AFL club and hope to play against the boys at some stage next year."
