Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe has been withdrawn from the club’s squad for the opening round of AFLX in Adelaide on Thursday.
Tom North, who was taken at pick no.65 in the 2017 National Draft, comes into the squad in place of Fyfe, whose workload is being managed.
“We reviewed Nat’s training data after yesterday’s training session and it was decided to manage his workload ahead of him playing in round one of the JLT Series,” general manger of football operations Chris Bond said.
Fremantle had to submit its initial 20-man squad to the AFL prior to the completion of yesterday’s training session.
