Fremantle have opted to bring in two small forwards for Sunday’s clash with the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.
Along with star midfielder Nat Fyfe, veteran forward Hayden Ballantyne will make his first appearance since Freo’s 82-point victory against North Melbourne in round one, while first-year forward Lachie Schulz also comes in to play his fourth AFL game.
The trio replace omissions Ethan Hughes, Cam McCarthy and Sam Switkowski.
Fyfe returns after missing one week due to an elbow infection.
The Fremantle captain was one of the best on ground in his most recent appearance against Hawthorn, with 24 disposals, eight tackles and three goals.
Ballantyne has kicked nine goals from eight WAFL appearances this season, averaging just under four tackles per game.
Schultz starred in his most-recent WAFL appearance with 22 disposals and two goals against East Perth in round 14.
The 22-year-old did not play for Peel last weekend as he was held over as an emergency for the Fremantle game.
Hughes, Switkowski, Bailey Banfield and Mitch Crowden have been named as Fremantle’s emergencies.
Bounce down for the clash is at 1.10pm EST (11.10am EST) and the game will be broadcast live into Perth on Fox Footy and streamed on Kayo and the AFL Live app.
The game will be a delayed broadcast on free-to-air television, commencing at 2pm WST on 7mate.
