It might be the off-season break, but Andrew Brayshaw can’t wait for the 2020 season to get underway.
The 19-year-old said that he was loving playing his footy at Fremantle as he continues to grow and develop as a midfielder.
“It’s been a great year. A big year of growth for myself,” Brayshaw said.
“I started the year playing mainly forward, I moved into the midfield and even played a little bit down back.
“It’s been one of the most enjoyable years of my football career, the group really gelled together and I think we showed, when we had our best team playing, what we could do.
“I’m really looking forward to next year but I really enjoyed this year.”
Brayshaw said that he doesn’t have any big off-season plans.
After playing 22 games and avoiding any serious niggles, he said his priority was to relax with friends and family and be fresh for pre-season.
“It’s going to be a relatively quiet off-season for myself. I’m going to be heading back to Melbourne, staying with Mum and Dad for a bit, staying with my girlfriend and spending time with my family,” Brayshaw said.
“I haven’t got any overseas travel planned but I’m going to try and build a nice fitness base to come back from for next year.
“I was relatively unscathed for most of the year. I probably had a week or two where I was pretty sore leading into games but I got through it alright so I didn’t have anything serious.
“Touch wood, I can have another year like this year and play another full season.”
