After battling a foot injury in 2018 and a hamstring injury to start 2019, defender Griffin Logue said he was happy to finish the 2019 season fit and playing regular football.
Logue played 13 games in his debut season in 2017 and added 10 games following his return in the second half of 2019.
He said he was thrilled to be able to build on his experience, with Logue one of a number of players at Fremantle learning the ropes at AFL level.
Fremantle finished the season with only 10 players with 100 games of experience or more on their list – the equal fewest in the league.
“I think the experience and knowledge that you get from games, it can’t really be measured, they’re that valuable and helpful for your own development and growth,” Logue said.
“You do as much as you can in the pre-season but the actual experience you get from games is second to none, so I reckon I’ve learnt a fair bit but I’ve still got so much more to improve.”
Logue - A three-pronged defence in 2019?
Logue was pleased to finish the year injury free and has ‘no excuses’ to not improve after two injury interrupted seasons.
“I’m just looking forward to getting through another pre-season, coming back nice and fit and being ready to roll in 2020,” Logue said.
“It really helps, finishing the season fit and healthy. Injuries are probably the biggest part of the game and getting through unscathed is great.
“It means you can build and have no excuses to come back healthy and ready to go.”
