115.8 contested possessions
This game pits the AFL’s two best contested ball teams. The Power rank first with an average of 115.8 contested possessions per game, while Freo are second with 152.5 per game. Two big names lead each club in the stat, with Nat Fyfe leading the AFL with an average of 17.7 per game, while Port’s Travis Boak averages 14.9 per game (sixth in AFL).
87.5 marks
Port Adelaide use the ball a lot by foot, ranking third in the AFL with an average of 228.1 kicks per game. Despite that, they only average 87.5 marks per game, which is 14th in the AFL.
58.1 inside 50s
Port Adelaide rank first in the AFL for inside 50s with 58.1 per game, but this hasn’t meant high scoring footy for the Power this season. In fact, both Freo and Port have struggled to convert their forward entries to scores in 2019.
The most crucial stat is their percentage of inside 50s that lead to a goal. For Freo, 19.5 per cent of inside 50s lead to a goal, ranking them 17th in the AFL. For the Power, 19.8 per cent lead to a goal, ranking them 15th.
Both teams' scoring accuracy has also affected this stat, with Freo ranking 14th and Port Adelaide 17th.

52 intercept marks
Good luck getting past Joel Hamling this season. The key back is doing well at either marking or spoiling opposition forward advances. He ranks ninth for intercept marks this year (52) and second for spoils (172).
