Fremantle’s Clancee Pearce will miss two weeks after injuring his calf in last Saturday’s win over Carlton at Etihad Stadium.

Sports science manager Jason Weber said the midfielder sustained the injury in the third quarter.

“Clancee’s a bit sore at the moment, he got a bit of a twinge and, unfortunately, that’s caused a bit of a muscle tear and he’ll probably be out for a fortnight,” he said.

Weber said Garrick Ibbotson, who was a late withdrawal from the game against Carlton, had flared up an old Achilles issue.

“He was given the week off to recover and things are progressing really well,” he said.

“We’re hopeful that he’ll be available for selection this week.”

David Mundy rolled his ankle against the Blues, but Weber confirmed the star midfielder was fine.

“Dave’s had a couple of little issues over the past few weeks, some minor tweaks, and he got another one on the weekend, but that shouldn’t present an issue going forward,” Weber said.

A new addition to the injury list was recruit Josh Simpson, who sustained a shoulder injury.

Josh took a blow to his AC joint, which just reduced his shoulder strength,” Weber said.

“From a safety perspective, being a first-year player, we kept him out for the week.”

Max Duffy appears set to resume after recovering from his second hamstring injury of the season.

“Max has been training really well, we’ve had to do some work to get him to the level we need, and we look like getting him back in this week,” Weber said.
