Fyfe set to rekindle SCG love affair
Nat Fyfe will look to continue an affinity with te SCG that began in his first AFL season
He has polled seven of a possible nine votes from Freo’s past three games at the venue.
Fyfe’s affinity with the SCG began in round 9, 2010.
A then skinny lad from Lake Grace claimed a NAB Rising Star nomination with a breakout 23-possession, seven-mark performance in a Freo victory.
He played on half-back and mopped up throughout the game with poise beyond his youth.
A year later, Fyfe returned to Sydney as a midfielder and played one of the best games of his young career.
On a wet day, he showed just how far his contested ball skills had come with a stunning effort that helped Fremantle upset the Swans by 11 points in Roger Hayden’s last game.
Fyfe also kicked a memorable goal from outside 50 that swung the momentum of the game.
Last year in Sydney, the 21-year-old picked up two Brownlow Medal votes following 28 touches in a close loss.
Fyfe has missed Freo’s past two games through suspension but he returns to rekindle his SCG flame on Saturday night.
