As a mover and shaker in the fashion world, Tommy Sheridan usually aims to be on point with his clothing choices.
But the Rixx Eyewear owner’s decision to rock a questionable double-denim outfit at the club for a day went beyond his desire to keep up appearances.
Double denim is the look adopted by the Abilities Centre, which provides support for those with disabilities and their families in Western Australia.
While in his outfit, Tommy surprised 8-year-old Georgia Farnan, a cerebral palsy sufferer who had recently undergone a major surgery.
Tommy’s known Georgia since his early days at the club after meeting Georgia’s parents while learning to become a chef as a part of his personal development.
“Georgia is a close friend of mine I’ve known her for three years and a bit years now,” Sheridan said.
“She’s just undergone a massive surgery and the whole purpose was the cheer her up, but the whole reason I’m wearing double denim as well is to raise awareness for the Abilities Centre and the programs they have in place for these young kids.
“They do a lot to raise funds so they can support the kids and families who really need it.”
With a cause close to his heart, Sheridan said he felt he got just as much out of being able to put a smile on young Georgia’s face.
“She was unbelievable…and her little brother Harry, who’s gone through a lot as well, as well as their parents. For me it’s easy, I get more out of it than they do receiving the presents. It’s just a pleasure.”
“She’s in recovery at the moment and it’s going to be long-term and quite a process.
“The most important thing right now is to make her smile and keep her positive, which she always is. “
