The Fremantle Football Club (FFC) board oversees a complex, high profile club with a turnover of more than $70 million and more than 60,000 members, plus various other key stakeholders and interested parties.
The governance duties and commitments on FFC board members are extensive, including, but not limited to, FFC monthly board meetings, FFC board sub-committee meetings, assistance with key club strategic projects and relationships, attendance at FFC home games and selected away games, engagement with key internal and external stakeholders, members and supporters, attendance at various club and community events, ongoing advocacy of FFC interests with relevant business, government and industry relationships, and promotion of the development of AFL and AFLW at the elite and community level.
The board consists of eight directors, with all appointments approved by the WA Football Commission following consultation and recommendation by the FFC board.
All board positions are on a volunteer basis and directors receive no remuneration.
Club members, with an appetite for hard work and to giving their time generously for their fellow members, can nominate for board positions.
Eligible members can, at any time, submit an expression of interest to be considered for a position on the FFC board when director vacancies arise.
Expressions of interest should be addressed to the company secretary via the following email address ffcboardnominations@fremantlefc.com.au
The expression of interest must contain a cover letter and CV explaining your background, membership details, relevant skillset complimentary to governance and oversight of a complex member-based club, relevant board governance experience, and motivation for being interested in joining the FFC Board.
All valid expressions of interest received will be reviewed periodically by the relevant board position selection committee, and as director vacancies arise.
