ELEVEN Fremantle-listed players featured for Peel Thunder as the 2024 premiership side won their first game of the season with a five-point thriller over Swan Districts
Neil Erasmus: Was a standout for Peel, leading all comers in both disposals (30) and tackles (nine), to accompany his six marks and six inside 50s.
James Aish: Played across halfback and showed his experience, leading a young Peel defensive line throughout a closely contested day. The 185-game player had 14 disposals for the day.
Cooper Simpson: After a quiet week last week, Simpson bounced back in his new halfback role, finishing with 20 disposals. He showed great rebound and confidence to take on the kick into the corridor to spur the team forward.
Bailey Banfield: Made his first WAFL League appearance since 2023, kicking two important goals in a low-scoring affair while applying good pressure with his five tackles. Banfield was reported for striking in the third term.
Liam Reidy: Had a strong day with his 48 hit-outs, 16 disposals, and eight inside 50s. Impactful early, he battled all day with minimal to no rest, taking the primary ruck role for the majority of the match.
Jaren Carr: Made his second consecutive League appearance and continued to show his craft with some nice efforts on the wing, making good use of his athleticism for his size. Carr had 13 disposals, five marks, and two inside 50s for the day.
Hugh Davies: Had an enthralling battle with an old-school full-forward, keeping his opponent to a single goal while gathering 13 disposals and three marks of his own.
Jack Delean: Ran through the midfield at times and had some moments with his nine disposals, four tackles, and three marks.
Ollie Murphy: Continues to show growth in his game as he gains confidence. Stayed strong in contests and lost minimal one-on-ones, finishing with nine disposals and three marks.
Charlie Nicholls: Made his League debut for the Thunder after playing in the Reserves last week. He will look to continue developing his craft.
Aiden Riddle: Continued developing his forward and second ruck role. The young key-position player kicked a good goal in the low-scoring affair and showed good signs when going into the ruck to chop out for Reidy.
