Michael Walters
Michael has returned after 18 weeks out. He played forward and looked very dangerous with four shots on goal. He also set up three others. He moved really well and had a strong second term. Michael was really dangerous around forward 50 stoppages where he was able to lose his opponents in traffic and showed some sharp change of angles. It was a positive day for Michael and it was great to have him out there.
Michael Wood
Michael played forward and had some good passages in the first half where he found some space and showed good release run. He looked to engage and block for teammates around stoppages and had three good tackles and gathers in close where he was able to retain the football in heavy traffic. His contested ball and intent will continue to be the focus.
Anthony Morabito
Anthony played the majority of the game on the wing with some small periods on ball and forward. His use again was strong and he was able to break the lines with some hard offensive run and spread where in two instances he was able to get inside forward 50 and kick goals.
Sam Menegola
Sam had a run-with role on Haiden Schloithe and then Timothy Kelly after half time. He played the majority of the game as an inside mid with a small period in defence. He worked hard defensively in the first half and also worked hard offensively on his opponent to get into good goal scoring positions kicking 2.2. His clearance work was positive in that he demonstrated strong bodywork and ended up with seven clearances for the day.
Jacob Ballard
Jacob played on ball where he won plenty of the ball and had eight clearances and a high amount of handballs to help link up play for our runners. He showed a strong work rate in and around the contest to win the ball and pressure with his tackles. We were pleased with his clearance particularly getting good depth with his kicks.
Tom Vandeleur
Tom played on a number of opponents across half back. He ran some good angles in the second quarter where he was able to take a good mark inside defensive 50. He kicked a good goal late in the game where he sagged off his opponent and kicked it inside 50 to put Peel back in front. Tom is continuing to grow with his awareness of opponent, his checking and bodywork.
Tanner Smith
Tanner unfortunately injured his shoulder in the first quarter and missed the rest of the game. Hopefully Tanner will only be out for a short period of time.
Alex Pearce
Alex played in defence opposed to a number of South Fremantle forwards. He continues to show good starting points and reads the cues quickly. He is also able to reference his opponent and the opposition when they have possession of the ball. He demonstrated some good bodywork and there were some very good defensive efforts in regards to his spoils.
Jack Hannath
Jack played forward and had time in the ruck. He showed some good chemistry with Jon Griffin in the forward 50 stoppages where they were effective around the clearance and created a number of scoring opportunities. Jack provided a strong presence in the contest where he was able to control space and get a clear hand to the ball more often than his opponents. He had a positive presence forward and in the ruck.
Jon Griffin
Jon played in the ruck and rotated forward with Jack Hannath. Overall his run and effort was good where he had some strong impact around the contest. One of the key positives for the day was his marking where he provided a consistent marking option, both contested and uncontested, and was able to roll off in defence and impact the contest. He was dominant in the centre square bounce where he jumped freely and showed good elevation. Throughout the game his work rate was of a high level.
Craig Moller
Craig played ruck for the majority of the game in the reserves. He played against two opposition ruckman who regularly rotated which posed a tough challenge. His intent to compete was positive early in the game and in the final quarter. He needs to make sure this is consistent throughout. He took three strong marks for the game where he showed commitment in the air and was effective with ball use by hand and foot.
