Walyalup have made two changes to their team of 21 to take on the Western Bulldogs on Sunday at Fremantle Oval, headlined by the return of co-vice-captain Hayley Miller alongside defender Madi Scanlon.
Miller and Scanlon replace Ash Brazill who is working through an ankle injury, and Ariana Hetherington who has been omitted for the clash and named as an emergency.
Scanlon has been named in the backline alongside Laura Pugh, Joanne Cregg, Emma O’Driscoll and Jess Low, while Miller has been named in the forward line.
Midfielder Aish McCarthy spoke to the media on Thursday morning and touched on how important Miller is for the side.
“Hayley’s a brilliant player – obviously around the middle and also going forward she’s really dangerous,” McCarthy said.
“Definitely miss her out there, but I think that’s (also) given others the opportunity to step up.
“I think the really good thing about this team is that we don’t rely on only a couple of players and each week I think someone else steps up to the mark.
“She’s a brilliant player and leader for this Club and she just brings a spark to our team.”
Defender Emma O’Driscoll will captain the side in the absence of Ange Stannett, who continues to manage her coaching role from the bench.
Tahleah Mulder and Holly Ifould join Hetherington as the three emergencies for the match.
The Club will wear its 2024 Indigenous jumper, which was designed by former Fremantle player Tiah Toth and her sister Breeanna Haynes.
Bouncedown is at 4.05pm WST, with the game to be broadcast live on Fox Footy and 7Mate, as well as being streamed live on Kayo Sports.
