Walyalup have named their team of 21 to take on Greater Western Sydney at Henson Park on Saturday in the Club’s final away game of the home and away season.

Ariana Hetherington is the only inclusion to the team after being managed in the Club’s RAC Derby win.

Hetherington replaces Madeleine Scanlon who has been sidelined with concussion after sustaining a head knock in the first quarter of the RAC Derby.

Hetherington has been named at half back alongside Emma O’Driscoll and Gabby O’Sullivan.

Co-vice-captain Hayley Miller will miss her third consecutive match due to calf soreness, with the Club electing to take a risk management approach.

Speaking at her Thursday morning media conference, Senior Coach Lisa Webb said the group would not be overlooking the Giants.

“Obviously we had a really important game for us on the weekend, but the next two games are also really important,” Webb said.

“GWS are a really great team in terms of the way they move the ball, especially from defensive 50 to forward 50 so we just need to be right on our game.

“Every game we want to keep building no matter who it’s against and we love our away trips, so we are more focused on the style of football that we want to be playing, the things that we brought that were positives against West Coast, and still work towards the things that we can build on for these next two games.

Also speaking at Thursday morning’s media conference, makeshift forward Gabby Biedenweg-Webster said the team would be looking to continue their unbeaten away streak.

“It’s an easier plane ride when you are coming back with a win,” Biedenweg-Webster said.

“We haven’t experienced a loss coming home yet so I think again this weekend we will do the same we have done every away trip that we’ve played, knowing that we’ve just got to get it done again.”

The Club will wear its 2024 AFLW Indigenous jumper that’s artwork and design was made by former Fremantle player Tiah Toth and her sister Breeanna Haynes.

Experienced defender Ashleigh Brazill will captain the side in the absence of Ange Stannett, who continues to manage her coaching role from the bench.

Tahleah Mulder, Holly Ifould and Makaela Tuhakaraina have been named as the emergencies for the match.

Bouncedown is at 11.05am WST, with the game to be broadcast live on Fox Footy and Channel 7two, as well as being streamed live on Kayo Sports.
