For veteran forward Michael Walters playing in the Toyota AFL Indigenous All Stars Match in February of 2025 fulfils a lifelong ambition.

"As a young kid, you aspired and dreamed of playing in these games. I used to watch Andrew McLeod and the Davey brothers running around up in Darwin when they played in this game," Walters reminisced.

Walters, who missed the opportunity to play for the Indigenous All Stars a decade ago due to injury, is eager to seize this chance.

"It's a great opportunity... It's something that I really wanted to play in," he expressed.

The Indigenous All Stars team is expected to feature some of the AFL's most electrifying talents, with Walters particularly excited about sharing the field with rising stars of the game.

"Crumbing off Jamarra Ugle-Hagan will be pretty good, but then again, he doesn't drop too many (marks),” Walters joked.

"Obviously Shai Bolton is one of the players I've wanted to play with for a long time.

“The main thing I’m looking forward to is playing alongside super stars of the competition that I may not get to play with if it wasn’t for this opportunity. I can’t wait to go out there and rub shoulders with some of those younger players.”

Fremantle defender Jordan Clark jokingly admitted that he is bracing himself for a challenging encounter.

"It's pretty exciting I get to play against Sonny and a few other boys like Liam (Ryan), Jamarra (Ugle-Hagan) and the Kozzy Picketts (of the world) all in the one forward line,” Clark said.

“I dare say there is going to be a fair score kicked.

“I you go back to round 17 I think Shai (Bolton) had seven shots on goal, took a hanger on me and it was raining so if that’s anything to go by then I’m in for a day.

“It’s pretty worrying as a half back that’s for sure.”

Ticket information will be announced by the AFL and the Club in the coming weeks.
